Winter Workwear

Office wear doesn’t have to be a suit or a blazer combo. My work days consist of a lot of admin stuff, going to photoshoots, admin procedural stages and data input. (A total daily routine change!) I usually wear a dressy sweater or a cardigan over a button-up. My office encourages Casual Fridays style for Administrators. But no gym outfits.

Here’s a dressier look for me. Now that it’s colder, I wore this outfit with tall boots. I kind of like this look. Plain pieces but with a bit of extra. Like my pleated faux leather skirt.

MILLY VEGAN LEATHER SKIRT

My skirt is from Milly. I was in Vancouver and went into a specialty shop and couldn’t help but splurge on this piece. I just held it at my waist and next thing I know I was putting the receipt in my wallet. But it’s so worth it. I just use Girl Math.

OAK & FORT

Black turtlenecks need a place in every woman’s wardrobe. When temperatures drop, I reach for mine. Not that I only have one. I have a range of fits and the one I chose for this out is from Oak & Fort. Soft cashmere. True black. I also love one from Uniqlo but they sold out.
Turtlenecks go with everything from dresses, to skirts to jeans. So why not invest in one or two or three. Again, Girl Math.

COLE HAAN TALL BLACK BOOTS

I invest in good pieces with great quality because these pieces age well as you wear them. It’s weird, but my philosophy before was the more pieces I have, at cheap prices, they won’t break because I can alternate. But of course, I end up not wearing most of these similar items because either they break or look terrible after a couple of wears or they don’t fit well even though it’s the right size. Or they just don’t go with anything in my closet. Yup. So I learned to put my money into better brands. Not necessarily luxury but I upgraded. Like this one from Cole Haan. I would probably spend that much on a pair of boots if I can justify how much wear I can get out of it. And so far, I’ve worn mine every other day and goes well with what I have in my closet. GM.

3.1 PHILIP LIM PASHLI IN MEDIUM

This bag has been on my Wishlist since I first saw it at a store in Montreal in July of 2012 during a lunch break. Yes. Finally arrived at my door in 2019. 7 years. Always sold out on line. Didn’t get a chance to buy it while I was in Montreal for a hectic work training week. It’s made of beautiful sturdy genuine leather, structured like a lady bag but does not give off that stiff vibe. I love the gold hardware which after all these years don’t seem to fade. Fits my iPad, and everything else I like to bring to work.
Unfortunately, the brand stopped producing the medium size. So I linked the mini one here.

GUCCI OPTICAL EYEWEAR

I used to have a Gucci one with bigger and thinner frames. But I thought this style looks professional and chic because of the Green and Red Gucci trademark. I love how you can tell luxury brands through their logos and signature colours.
I linked a similar one from LensCrafters because they might have sold out of the style I have.
